Target 7: 60 per cent of the world's threatened species conserved in situ

The UK’s most threatened species require conservation programmes to ensure their future survival. There are two main mechanisms in the UK to achieve effective in situ conservation: the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (UK BAP) process, which delivers a tailored programme of action for a species and protected areas, such as A/SSSIs, which protect individual sites on which these species occur.
