Global projects
Plantlife International, with IUCN – The World Conservation Union, are currently developing a GEF (Global Environment Fund) supported project: “Implementing the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation: identification of threatened plant species and protection of important plant areas in six priority countries (Cameroon, Costa Rica, Madagascar, Morocco, the Philippines, Sri Lanka)".
This project will run for seven years (including an 18-month planning period) and will assess threatened species, develop strategies for identifying and conserving IPAs, and encourage replication of the process within each country's region– e.g. from Morocco to across the southern Mediterranean.
