Speaking up for plants in Europe

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is going through a streamlining process for further modernisation (so-called “Health Check”). The Health Check review concentrates on three main areas of change for the CAP:

How to simplify the Single Payment Scheme (SPS)
How to adjust market instruments to new market opportunities
How to respond to new challenges facing EU agriculture

In November 2007, the European Commission presented its Communication on the Health Check and is following this with a six month period of consultation. This first Public Consultation is a questionnaire that aims to identify an extensive, but not exclusive list of issues that are relevant to the Health Check and that could contribute to this consultation process.
