Plants are essential to everyone's lives. Welcome to Plantlife.
North-west England
The coast of North-west England is one of the most important for widlife in the UK. Some pinewoods here support the endangered red squirrel and the sand dunes of Sefton are designated an Important Plant Area. The moors, lakes and wetlands of the Lake District are another and provide some of the most breathtaking scenery in the region, if not the whole country. To the south, the sandstone crags and dense woodland of Alderley Edge create an ideal habitat for rare bryophytes.
