Introducing Alistair... our new Head of Plantlife Scotland
I’m Alistair Whyte, and I’ve just started as the new Head of Plantlife Scotland.
I’m really excited to be here, and I’m looking forward to working hard for wild plant conservation across Scotland, with our amazing team of staff and volunteers, and with partner organisations throughout the country.
I’ve come from Forest Enterprise Scotland, where I was responsible for managing a range of forests and woodlands, with a focus on involving people and engaging communities. Before that I worked for Scottish Natural Heritage, delivering a landscape-scale ecological connectivity project. I have also worked for the Wildlife Trusts as nature reserves manager, both in Scotland and in Hertfordshire.
We’ve got an exciting range of projects and events in the pipeline for the coming months, and I’m looking forward to getting out and about to meet our dedicated members and volunteers. These are tough times for nature, but rest assured Plantlife Scotland will be fighting hard to conserve and enhance our wonderful native flora!
