Lake District (LOST) Woodland Walk & Survey - Skelwith Bridge Woods, Ambleside
Looking Out for the Small Things (LOST)
Come and join Plantlife to enjoy and learn about the Atlantic woodlands of the Lake District, whilst actively contributing to the understanding of this special habitat.
These events will use Plantlife’s Rapid Woodland Assessment (RWA) as a tool to assess the potential of woods to support oceanic lichens and bryophytes of conservation importance.
The RWA is a preliminary tool to gain insight as to whether a more detailed survey would be beneficial, so therefore no prior knowledge is required for these events, just a love for the natural world and willingness to learn.
Support will be available from April Windle (LOST Project Officer) after the training for individuals who would like to conduct this survey in their local area or in a woodland they own or manage.
Please bring plenty of water, sturdy boots and outdoor clothing.
