Atlantic lejeanea Lejeunea mandonii
|Best Time to See|
A tiny, leafy liverwort.
It is very restricted in distribution, being found at just three sites in Scotland and on rocks within woodlands at seven sites in England, all of which are on the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall. Populations appear to fluctuate year on year, but it is still declining at one of its most important sites, where a conifer plantation is casting too much shade, despite attempts to thin the conifers.
