Fuchsia Fuchsia magellanica

‘Beneath the Fuchsia tree' is a Manx expression, and on the Isle of Man this exotic plant does grow unusually tall.

Introduced for hedging purposes from South America in the 1820s, Fuchsia is now a prominent part of the island landscape, and hardly a cottage garden is without it.
