A small plant with a spike of small pale-greenish, nodding, bell-like flowers on the stem, and light-green leaves at the base.
It grows mainly in the Scottish Highlands but also at a few sites in the Lake District, Wales and Ireland.
Woods, under heathers and on rock ledges in mountain areas.
It is principally threatened by overgrazing and fires on the high heather moors.
