Cambridgeshire
Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla vulgaris)

The Pasqueflower has been a famous Cambridgeshire flower since its discovery on the Gog Magog hills by John Ray in 1660. Today it grows on ancient earthworks, perhaps in obedience to the legend that it grows on the graves of Viking warriors.
Habitat: limestone banks. Flowers: April
