Primrose (Primula vulgaris)

Primroses have a strong presence in Devon's high-banked country lanes.

 

 

Local papermakers used to present little bunches to their customers to provide ‘a breath of Devon'.

Habitat: woods and hedgebanks. Flowers: March-May.
