Wood Crane's-bill(Geranium sylvaticum)

Wood Crane's-bill(Geranium sylvaticum)

A much-loved flower of old hay-meadows and damp, open woods near Sheffield, with its distinctive flowers the colour of runny ink. The bee sees a different Wood Crane's-bill: a fluorescent beacon with tramlines leading to the pollen.

Habitat: meadows and banks. Flowers: June-July.
