Gorse (Ulex europaeus)

Image:Gorse (Ulex europaeus)

Few plants make such an impact on the landscape as flowering Gorse, both as colour and scent. Around Belfast, it is almost ubiquitous on roadsides, waste ground, heaths, banks and around the coast. Habitat: banks, heaths and sea-cliffs. Flowers all year, but best in April-May.
