Rock-rose (Helianthemum nummularium)

In parts of Scotland, it was known as 'solflower', a flower as yellow as sunshine which also liked warm, sunny places. Berwickshire's 'sunflowers' form spectacular golden banks on some coastal cliffs in early summer.

Habitat: dry grassland. Flowers: June-August.
