Conservation activities in the field

Practical conservation activities are listed on our upcoming workdays page. Examples of the type of work are: carrying out a survey of the endagered plant Perfoliate Pennycress on a limestone grassland in Gloucestershire, or pruning back invading scrub on chalk downland in Kent.

We have a Flora Guardian programme in England, Scotland and Wales. It's easy to take part , no prior experience is necessary and there is no membership requirement. Follow the booking procedure in the upcoming workdays page, or click on this link.

Monitoring endangered species

By keeping a watchful eye on endangered plant species you can help ensure their survival. Flora Guardians visit a selected site one or more times every year to carry out a survey of the rare plant that grows there. They then send Plantlife details on a special monitoring form. Over 240 sites are monitored in this way.
