NEW! A Quest for Aquatics - Garden centre survey 2008
Take part in our 2008 survey 'A Quest for Aquatics' by visiting your local garden centre, pet shop or other retail outlet and help us to find out which pond plants are being sold throughout Scotland and how they are labelled. It only takes a few minutes and the results of the survey will help Plantlife work with retailers to find and supply the right pond plants and label them effectively. Download our Quest for Aquatics survey form, e-mail us for a copy or phone us on 01786 479382.
Once you have filled in your findings for your local garden centre you can post the form back or e- mail us your results.
Pond Alert! campaign
The above survey is part of Plantlife's Pond Alert! campaign which highlights the problem of non-native invasive aquatic plants threatening Scotland's native flora and wildlife.
Below are six leaflets produced by Plantlife for the Pond Alert! campaign, providing information and advice for managing your own ponds, avoiding problem plants, buying plants and creating bog garden attractive to wildlife.
Pond Alert! poster and pond plant education pack
Plantlife has also produced an attractive poster about pond plants - 'A year in the life of a pond' - which you can see by clicking here. For a copy of the poster, please contact the Plantlife Scotland office on 01786 478509. Schools can also contact Plantlife Scotland for a pond plant education pack, with activities and information to tie in with the Scottish curriculum for 8-11 year olds.
