Christmas cards and gifts from Plantlife 2008

We are delighted to bring you this year's Plantlife Christmas cards and gift ideas. All these items can be ordered online or by phone on +44 (0)1722 342730. Please order by the end of November to ensure delivery before Christmas. If you have any queries please contact Plantlife at enquiries@plantlife.org.uk or by phone.

Postage and packaging costs for all packs of Christmas cards:
1-3 packs £2.95, 4-6 packs £3.45, 7-10 packs £4.95.

With regard to the VAT rate change to 15%, effective from 1 December 2008, Plantlife has decided that the administrative cost of changing our prices would be prohibitive - since many of our sales are via flyers sent to members, and making the change would involve giving refunds of a few pence for orders made using existing order forms. We are therefore keeping our prices the same and the savings to Plantlife will go into running our conservation activities. Please also note that some products such as gift membership and Adopt-a-flower are not in any case subject to VAT.

Yew by Laurie Campbell
Yew by Laurie Campbell

£3.95 per pack of ten cards with envelopes, plus postage and packaging

The Yew tree (Taxus baccata) was revered by early religions and is still present in many graveyards as a reminder of the use of these sites before Christianity. Europe's oldest tree is the Fortingall yew in Glen Lyon, which has been estimated to be at least two thousand and up to nine thousand years old.

Afon Hirnant by Ray Woods

£3.95 per pack of ten cards with envelopes, plus postage and packaging

The alder-lined Afon Hirnant stream is a tributary of the River Wye in Wales. Wildflowers and other plants in the area have recently benefited from a scheme designed to reverse the decline in native salmon and trout by protecting the banks from grazing stock.

Snowdrops by Laurie Campbell

£3.95 per pack of ten cards with envelopes plus postage and packaging

The Common Snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) is also known as Candlemas Bells, Snowpiercer and February Fairmaids. One of Britain's best loved flowers, it forms carpets of white blooms in late winter along streams and in remote woods in many parts of Britain. Nevertheless, it was not recorded in British gardens until 1597, and no wild records exist before 1778, so today the plant is regarded as a long-standing introduction, perhaps spreading from monastic or other religious sites across the country.

Message inside reads 'Season's Greetings'

Each card measures 145mm x 100mm.
