A flower of dark, moorland waters.

Distribution
Widespread throughout the UK but commonest in the north and west of England.
Habitat
Wet bogs and fens.
Best time to see
Flowers from May to July.
County flower of Renfrewshire.
It is known locally as buckbean, marsh trefoil or bog-nut.
