The pride of Wales, this dainty alpine is confined to Snowdon and its neighbours.

Unlike most alpines, it blooms alone, and often out of reach, in rock crevices.

Distribution

North Wales.

Habitat

Mountain rocks.

Best time to see

Flowers from June to July.

County flower of Caernarvonshire/Sir Gaernarfon.
