It’s Plantlife’s #NoMowMay… because Every Flower Counts
Leave your lawn unmown for the month of May and let the flowers bloom on your lawn. Then, at the end of the month, find out how many bees your lawn can feed with our Every Flower Counts Survey.
The exciting new results from the 2020 survey show our lawns are more important than ever for pollinators, and that more people than ever are mowing their lawns less often.
So… join in the fun with #NoMowMay and the Every Flower Counts Survey from 22nd-31st May to get your own Personal Nectar Score.
When it comes to providing vital nectar and pollen for bees, butterflies and other insects, every flower counts. And your lawn can help provide that feast.
The more wild flowers you have in your lawn the more nectar will be produced. If you are taking part in #NoMowMay or haven’t mown at all this year, you’re likely to have many more wild flowers and lots more nectar.
From your results, we’ll calculate a National Nectar Index to show how lawns across Britain are helping to feed our pollinators. We’ll also reveal the top ten lawn flowers and show you how to increase the number of flowers in your lawn.
The Every Flower Counts survey will run from 22nd-31st May. In the meantime, Dr Trevor Dines explains all about No Mow May and Every Flower Counts in this webinar.
