Tony has spent more than 20 years using data for the benefit of conservation and business. During this time, he has helped a range of organisations to make good use of technology to improve the way they run.

After gaining a master’s degree in conservation biology, Tony joined BirdLife International to work on Important Bird Areas. He moved to the RSPB in 1998 where he focused on data management before moving into various leadership roles.

Tony joined Redgate Software in 2014. He became its Chief Operating Officer two years’ later, with responsibility for developing its strategy. During this time, he also led a project to strengthen learning and innovation for a software company in Cambridge.

Tony returned to conservation in 2020. He is currently supporting BirdLife International and its partners to develop ways to manage its biodiversity programmes.

Outside of work, Tony is a keen birdwatcher and hockey player, as well as a village hall trustee.
