Wildflower meadows are a powerful ally in the fight against climate change but with so few left and under threat from all sides, they need your help.
Will you help protect and restore irreplaceable habitats?
When they are thriving and abundant, wildflower meadows are not only breathtakingly beautiful, they are crucial in helping to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises.
Wildflower meadows are a national asset that provide huge natural benefits, from capturing air pollution and locking away carbon to supporting wildlife and improving our health.
However over a staggering 97% have been destroyed since the 1930s.
Will you act now to help protect and restore irreplaceable habitats?

Meadows continue to face significant threats from development, pollution, inappropriate tree planting and intensive farming practices.
At the core of this issue is the fundamental lack of understanding of their value. Unlike ancient woodlands and peatlands, species-rich grasslands like wildflower meadows often have no legal protection. These pressures are pushing meadows to the brink, and with government plans to relax planning laws, the situation could become even worse.
It is deeply troubling that species-rich grassland now covers just 1% of land across the UK! With very little protection and pressures from all sides, they urgently need your help before it’s too late.
We are calling on governments in the UK to prioritise their protection and restoration by urging them to create a cross-departmental Grassland Taskforce. We are also actively working with farmers, landowners and community groups to take care of grasslands for the future with practical advice, training and support.
We’ve passionately advocated for, protected and restored species-rich grassland for decades and we will not stop until this huge natural asset is realised – they are vital for nature and people to thrive, for food production, and to combat climate change.
But we can’t do it without you. Together we must act now to protect and restore irreplaceable meadows.
Please donate today– for nature, for climate and for future generations.
